This summer, CIPAFilter version 6 will be released and will include many new features and improvements. You can look for:

• Brand new Web Reporting & Archiving Interface:
We received lots of really good feedback from customers in November/December of 2007 and most all of these requests are being added to the firmware.

• Anonymous Proxy Server Detection:
This is already part of the current firmware and is one of the latest greatest features of the content filtering system, and is officially part of CIPAFilter version 6.

• Version 1.0 Release of CIPAAv Workstation Client:
The client is getting polished up for its first official 1.0 release. Several known bugs and performance issues have been resolved recently, including Windows Vista compatibility and the ability to push/deploy the client. Additional development will address certain performance issues for the updates/tray icon, added logging/management to the central interface, and configuration abilities to east administration.

• Clustering Management:
For those of you clustering multiple CIPAFilter units, you will have the a central portal with easier management so that one change will be propagated to multiple units. Better user security for management will also be implemented.

• Updated Black-list/category system:
Now that anonymous proxies and many circumvention methods have been taken care of, CIPAFilter engineers are looking at an alternative for some schools that wish to have some more categories, including an elementary/kids-only safe section for their web browsing. More details to follow on this as well.
